To be honest, I wasn’t expecting to come across any music tonight that would impress me into any sort of proactivity regarding the doom of Fleet FM, financially or otherwise. Hell, I live on the North Shore (don’t judge me), I can’t even pick up the frequency for Fleet! But it was a koha entry, there were seven bands playing and there was fuck all else to do.
‘Koha’ is a term that gets bandied about a bit isn’t it? Does it mean a donation? Can I pay at the end of the night with an amount corresponding to how much I enjoyed the show? I guess it means give as much as you can, huh… But then how little can you get away with giving without seeming like a selfish wanker? I call for a more detailed explanation of this confusing, confusing piece of diction. Anyway, I had just been payed and was feeling generous so I gave them a tenner. Ten. Whole. Dollars. The door people looked stoked as, so I suppose I could have given less… I expected to regret this act of overwhelming kindness.
